Blackskye Community Radio Association, Inc (BSCRA) is a non-profit association that was started in early 2025 to provide infrastructure and access to alternate communication systems to aid in emergency preparedness and response mitigation at the community level, and to promote the importance of citizen emergency preparedness in Waynesboro, PA and surrounding communities.  

Alternate communication systems planning include, but are not limited to, General Mobile Radio Service, Amateur Radio, and Meshtastic. 

Mission

1. Promote and facilitate the use of alternative communication systems in Waynesboro, PA and surrounding communities. 

2. Promote the importance of individual emergency preparedness planning. 

3. Establish a trusted base of licensed community members who share a common interest in radio communication and emergency preparedness.

4. Improve individual radio communication skills through enablement and practice.

5. To maintain a respectful and inclusive atmosphere by encouraging daily, routine use of our communication systems, and by participating in weekly radio nets.
